I am an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University’s Department of Media & Information, where I am also affiliated with the Quello Center for Media & Information Policy. I received my PhD in 2020 from the University of Michigan School of Information, where I was advised by Silvia Lindtner and Tiffany Veinot.
I am a researcher of high-tech economies in rural America, including the growing push for high-tech entrepreneurship and innovation as key components of rural economic development. I also do research on the use of social technologies for community building among LGBTQ people living in rural areas. At the Department of Media & Information, I teach classes on User Experience design and research, as well as the role of technology in development.
